About the Glazer Media Initiative (GMI)

It has famously been said that "a picture is worth a thousand words."  We at the Moshe Dayan Center wholeheartedly agree. Thanks to a generous seed donation from the Gilford and Diane Glazer Foundation, the Glazer Media Initiative (GMI) was launched in order to provide students and researchers with the unique opportunity to explore Middle Eastern history and contemporary affairs through a multimedia lens.

The GMI enables access by researchers and students to locally produced and themed documentary and dramatic films, music, and satellite broadcasts from the region. As part of the initiative, the MDC maintains an active and growing collection of films and other media related to the region, and frequently screens them along with topical discussions with subject matter experts. The GMI enables lectures and events produced by the MDC to be video recorded and uploaded to the MDC website for public viewing, and provides MDC researchers and affiliated students with sophisticated audio-visual tools and equipment which they can use to produce interviews, oral histories, and podcasts.
