"Back to the Middle East" is the podcast of the Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies in Tel Aviv University. The podcast will explore various aspects of the Middle East, all along the timeline: past (history), present (news), future (trends) – and of course, everything in between.
In the podcast, we will talk to Dayan Center researchers, as well as to guest speakers of various backgrounds, to explore together: where are we? How did we get here? And where is all of this going?
Our new episode deals with Egypt, an important state in the Middle East who plays a significant role also in Hamas-Israel war (in Hebrew).
The episode is hosted by Jonathan Franco, MDC researcher and PHD student at London School of Economics, and features:
Amira Oron, an Israeli diplomat who served as Israel's ambassador to Egypt (2020 - 2024), and today a senior researcher at the Institute for National Security Studies.
Dr. Michael Barak, a researcher at the Moshe Dayan Center and at the Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT), and a lecturer at the Reichman University.
