The program for Contemporary Middle East Research - The I.R Fund


The IR Fund was established at The Dayan Center In 2007 in order to support research and academic activities and to promote young scholars in studies of the contemporary Middle East.

In the academic year 2018/19 the fund supported the following projects:

  • A matching scholarship to the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration Scholarship for Research Students – awarded to a young "Oleh Hadash" (new immigrant), a doctoral candidate at the Tel-Aviv University Zvi Yavetz School of Historical Studies: A study of Syria-US relations, 1977-1992.
     
  • A matching scholarship to a Living Stipend awarded to a doctoral candidate at the Tel-Aviv University Zvi Yavetz School of Historical Studies: A study of the hybrid identity of Lebanese immigrants at the border triangle of Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay, 1950-2010.
