The IR Fund was established at The Dayan Center in 2007 in order to support research and academic activities and to promote young scholars studying the contemporary Middle East.
Since its inception, the Foundation has supported the following projects:
- Scholarships to doctoral candidates whose thesis is consistent with the study and research of the contemporary Middle East.
- One-time scholarships for outstanding Graduate research students in the field of Middle Eastern history.
- Supporting seminars on topics related to the contemporary Middle East.
- Supporting the publications of MDC books and publications on the topic of the contemporary Middle East.
- Supporting various research initiatives on the contemporary Middle East.
- Supporting the Program for Regional Cooperation at the MDC.
