On August 9, 2023, the Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies (MDC) at Tel Aviv University hosted a Turkish delegation for a strategic dialogue entitled
"Türkiye-Israel Relations: Challenges and Opportunities."
The dialogues' primary objective was to foster meaningful exchanges between those in the Turkish and Israeli policy communities by harnessing the insights of policy professionals, academics, and government officials.
Adopting a forward-thinking approach, the dialogue sought to identify challenges and opportunities for the two countries, with the overarching goal of fostering increased cooperation. Participants assessed the implications of the normalization process to develop a framework for strengthening bilateral ties. Additionally, recommendations for policymakers on both sides were developed, and plans were set in motion to collaborate on a joint paper that will analyze the progress, challenges, and opportunities of the regional agenda while also laying out a potential future agenda.
