The Moshe Dayan Center congratulates the center's researcher, Dr. Irit Back, on receiving the 2024 ASMEA Best conference paper in the Middle East category, presented at the annual conference of the Association for the Study of the Middle East and Africa (ASMEA).
The Seventeenth Annual ASMEA Conference took place on November 2 - 4, 2024 in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Back received the award for her paper on Sufism in the West African community in Jerusalem during the Ottoman and Mandate periods.
Her article is set to be published in an upcoming issue of The Journal of the Middle East and Africa.
