MDC Researchers Dr. Joel Parker, Dr. Ronen Zeidel, & Moran Levanoni spoke at the Jerusalem Peace and Security Forum to discuss the situation of the Druze in Syria.
Dr. Joel Parker stated that the Druze in Syria are likely negotiating with opposition forces, but the chaotic situation in Syria makes it hard to predict their future decisions. Dr. Ronen Zeidel stated that Islamic State flags have been placed near the Druze, but the flags are more for publicity purposes than proof of a new IS front against the Druze. Mr. Moran Levanoni said that Israel is helping Syria's Druze and different points along the border.
