"The intensifying discussion on the question of "the day after" in the Gaza Strip is causing Israel's leaders to contemplate a limited range of options, all of them problematic. In light of the stark present we face, there are some who have taken to poking around in the repositories of the collective consciousness, where ideas from the past are stored, some of them forgotten because they failed or were rejected out of hand."
