Dr. Michael Barak is a researcher at the Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies (MDC) in Tel Aviv University, and a member of the Doron Halpern Middle East Network Analysis Desk at the MDC. He is also a senior researcher at the Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT) and a lecturer at the Lauder School of Government Diplomacy and Strategy, both at the Interdisciplinary Center, Herzliya (IDC).
Dr. Barak's research primarily focuses on modern Egypt, global jihad (al-Qaeda & other terrorist Islamic organizations), Salafi and Sufi movements in the Arab world, and social media networks in the Arab World.
