Moran Levanoni is a doctoral candidate at the Zvi Yavetz School of Historical Studies at Tel Aviv University, and a junior researcher at the Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies.  His dissertation, supervised by Prof. Eyal Zisser,  focuses on the Shi'i community in Syria and Lebanon and its role in the creation of modern Lebanon during the Mandate era.  He serves as a Syria and Lebanon analyst on the Doron Halpern Middle East Network Analysis Desk (MENAD) and is additionally a research fellow at the Truman Institute.
