בראשית חודש נובמבר התקיים בוושינגטון הכנס השנתי ה-18 של Association for the Study of the Middle East and Africa (ASMEA)
חוקרי ומומחי המרכז השתתפו בפאנל מיוחד שעסק בחשיבות המחקר שבמידע הגלוי והנגיש (Open Source Intelligence - OSINT), להבנה טובה יותר של המציאות המשתנה. זאת, תוך עיון במקרי בוחן מהמלחמה שפרצה בעקבות 7 באוקטובר, וכן מנפילת המשטר הסורי בדצמבר 2024.
בין היתר, הוצגו בפאנל מחקרים בנושא קונספציות מודיעיניות, ניתוח השוואתי של שיח בתקשורת הערבית, השיח ברשתות החברתיות ביחס לישראל וליהודים, והכישלון – חרף המידע שבגלוי – לחזות אירועים מכוננים במרחב, דוגמת נפילתו של המשטר הסורי.

The Moshe Dayan Center's researchers had the privilege of participating in the 18th Annual Association for the Study of the Middle East and Africa (ASMEA) Conference, which concluded in Washington, D.C.
The Center’s scholars and experts participated in a special panel devoted to the importance of research based on open and accessible information (Open-Source Intelligence – OSINT) for a deeper understanding of the rapidly changing reality in the region. The panel examined case studies drawn from the war that erupted following the events of October 7, as well as from the fall of the Syrian regime.
