

Dr. Raz Zimmt is an expert on contemporary Iran on the Doron Halpern Middle East Network Analysis Desk (MENAD) at MDC. Dr. Zimmt serves as well as a researcher at the Alliance Center for Iranian Studies and at the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS). Dr. Zimmt received his B.A and M.A degrees in Middle Eastern History from Tel Aviv University, and his doctorate in the History of Islam and the Middle East from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. His dissertation focused on the regional policy of Iran in the Arab world during the 1950s and 1960s.
Dr. Zimmt currently edits "Spotlight on Iran" for the Meir Amit Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center. He has written dozens of analytical articles in his field of specialization, and has lectured in academic and public venues, in addition to regularly providing expert commentary through Israeli and international media outlets.
